Who we help

Who we help

Through our research, national teacher training and work at the Swiss Cottage School,  we help children with a range of special needs and learning disabilities. We support children with severe and moderate learning difficulties; autistic spectrum disorder; language and communication problems; dyspraxia and dyslexia; epilepsy and other medical conditions; social, emotional and behavioural difficulties; profound and multiple learning difficulties.

Our many years of teaching and research has helped us to develop a method which is ‘outstanding’ and can be replicated nationwide and even internationally.

Stefan’s story

Stefan has special educational needs and was a student at Swiss Cottage School from 1999 to 2006. After that, he went to a local college but found it too challenging. Then he met our Sports Leader, who developed a package for him as part of our sports team. He is currently on an Apprenticeship Scheme, gaining NVQ qualifications as a Sports Coach and has become a highly valued member of the Swiss Cottage team.

Saba’s story

Saba has special needs and was a student at Swiss Cottage School from 1999 to 2007. She had many challenges in her life and despite going on to college after school, it didn’t work out for her there. She returned to Swiss Cottage School for help and we devised a support programme of voluntary work in the school. She is now a full-time member of staff and her work and attitude are highly valued.
